Just south of Garden City Beach is Murrells Inlet, a seaside community that is considered to be the "Seafood Capital of South Carolina", but is also home to some of the nation's best golf courses. Once primarily a fishing village, the town is best known for the Murrells Inlet MarshWalk, a half-mile long boardwalk overlooking a pristine salt marsh, and the many award-winning seafood and barbecue restaurants along Highway 17 Business in the central business district.
Brookgreen Gardens, a sculpture garden and wildlife preserve built on four former rice plantations, is located slightly south of Murrells Inlet. It features several themed gardens with American figurative sculptures placed in them, trails through several nature reserve ecosystems and the Lowcountry Zoo.

And don't forget about Ripley's Aquarium, Alligator Adventure, Hard Rock Cafe, Jimmy Buffett's Margaritaville, and The Pavilion Nostalgia Park.
Other points of interest close by include the waterfront community of Georgetown, the third oldest city in South Carolina and second largest seaport in South Carolina, and historic Conway with its downtown Riverwalk area nestled on the banks of the Waccamaw River. Guest ReviewsAvg. Rating:
Great place with great location and view. Very good value for the location. Highly recommend this place. There are some nicer and newer places but they cost a lot more. This room was in generally good condition for it's age. These are fairly old buildings at Surfmaster. One main problem was the sliding door to the balcony needed replaced. Very hard to open and close and broken handles. Most of these units have similar problems with the Sliding doors. Wallpaper and towel bar in the master bath needed replaced and updated. One of the three bedrooms had no access to the closet, it was locked. The outside maintenance and pool areas are in very good condition and well taken care of. Security is vigilant keeping pool and parking areas secure and safe. Overall we were very happy with our stay and will come back.

We enjoyed our time together. The condo was in excellent condition and location. We loved the closeness of the ocean and the pool. We ate at nearby restaurants, took a helicopter ride, played putt putt, drove bumper cars, shopped at Harley Davidson and got Mrytle Beach tshirts. Wonderful trip![
