- Stanley Drive Landing: Located one block south at Stanley Dr & First Ave; the most convenient option with a solid concrete launch. This ramp is very shallow two hours before and after low tide.
- Murrells Inlet Public Boat Ramp: Located at 4139 US-17 BUS; a larger three-lane ramp suitable for bigger boats (can be busy on weekends) Ample public parking. Accessible regardless of the tide.
- Kayaking: There are two additional kayak launches in the area. Morse Park, located by the Hot Fish Club and the Oyster Recycling Center. Close at 6 p.m.
- Red Right Return: When heading back from the ocean or open water, keep red markers on your right
- Tide Awareness: The inlet experiences significant tidal changes—check a daily tide chart (such as Tide Chart) to avoid shallow areas at low tide. It’ll use your location and provide the closest station to provide current and future tides.
- Tides vary depending on moon phases. During a new or full moon, expect higher than usual high tides and lower than usual low tides. Channels or docks may be unnavigable during low tide.
- Boating Etiquette: Maintain at least 100 feet from docks and anchored vessels while underway
