What is Garden City Realty doing to prevent the spread of the COVID-19?

At Garden City Realty, we want you to know the health and well-being of our guests and team are our top priority and we want to reassure you of the diligence of our approach. We want you to know that with us, you’ve always been able to count on outstanding cleaning and service from our professional housekeeping team.

In response to Covid-19, we’ve taken extra steps to ensure our rigid sanitization and disinfection protocols and best practices are being satisfied within all of our rental properties, offices, and operation facilities. These procedures expand on our already thorough cleaning measures and the amount of time our trained housekeepers spend caring for each of our rental properties. So, you can rest easy knowing the property you are staying in is safe for you and your family.

Our enhanced cleaning procedures comply with recommendations from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention as well as guidance from hospitality industry experts. Here’s what this means for you.

Sanitizing and disinfecting

In addition to methodically cleaning every home between guest stays, we’re applying disinfectant to all hard and soft surfaces with an EPA approved disinfectant. While disinfecting, we’re paying special attention to high-touch areas including, but not limited to, light switches, door knobs, counters, TV remotes, hangers, luggage racks, furniture knobs, dishwashers, vacuum cleaners, washer, dryer, cribs, high chairs, games, books, shower curtains, trash cans, and hampers.

If your rental includes fresh linens and towels, or if you’ve added them to your reservation, take comfort in knowing those items are processed in our own in-house commercial facilities. We use only commercial grade bleach, detergent, and fabric softener per load with hot water temperatures set at 145° - hotter than the industry standard. To remain germ-free, processed linens are immediately folded and shrink-wrapped opened only by you, the guest, upon arrival.

Protecting our teams

We provide our employees with gloves and face masks to wear while visiting homes for maintenance, housekeeping, or any other purpose. Also, employees must implement social distancing procedures while in an occupied property.

Going above and beyond

Garden City Realty guests can expect more than just professionally cleaned homes. Our housekeepers all receive required training on proper cleaning procedures and the use of cleaning chemicals.

Upon arrival at your rental property, you’ll find a welcome bag, equipped with starter amenities including basic toiletries and paper towels. We also routinely inspect each property to make sure everything is in working order—from smoke detectors to the Wi-Fi - all to keep you safe and comfortable. We focus on the details, so you can focus on creating lifelong vacation memories.

In addition to normal cleaning requirements, our housekeeping department has increased focus by implementing the following procedures:

    • All housekeeping staff is provided with hand sanitizer, gloves, and masks.
    • All housekeeping staff is required to wear masks when entering occupied properties.
    • All housekeeping staff must implement social distancing procedures while in an occupied property.
    • Upon completion of our normal cleaning procedures, our housekeeping staff must reapply disinfectant to all hard surfaces as well as draperies and bedding with an EPA approved disinfectant.
    • The housekeeping staff will use an EPA approved disinfectant on commonly touched areas including, but not limited to, light switches, door knobs, counters, TV remotes, hangers, luggage racks, furniture knobs, dishwashers, vacuum cleaners, washer, dryer, cribs, high chairs, games, books, shower curtains, trash cans, and hampers.
    • The housekeeping staff will continue to apply blocks on all properties without turnovers to further disinfect.
    • We have added steps to our cleaning process within all of our offices and operation facilities to make sure everyone is protected.
    • Proper hand hygiene is part of the messaging our team receives on a daily basis.
