Ripley's Penguin Dash Run/Walk

Ripley’s Aquarium of Myrtle Beach is excited to host the Penguin Dash Run/Walk and Ripley’s Penguin Family Fun 1-mile walk/run!

This family-friendly, themed event will be a celebration of the South African Penguins. Guests are encouraged to dress up, and all ages are welcome. There is even a free Toddler Waddle taking place in front of Ripley’s Aquarium that morning at 9 a.m. This event will start and end in front of Ripley’s Aquarium at Broadway at the Beach, and the route takes the runners through the Broadway at the Beach shopping and dining complex. Norman and Sharkee will be there, and we may get a special visit from the penguins themselves! Race Start Times: Penguin Dash at 8:00 a.m., 1 Mile Walk at 8:30 a.m., and the Toddler Waddle at 9:05 a.m. Post-race race a light breakfast is provided by Ripley's Aquarium.

17th Annual Shuckin’ on the Strand Oyster Roast

Tickets are now available for the much-anticipated 16th annual Shuckin’ on the Strand Oyster Roast. Hosted by Grand Strand Young Professionals (GSYP) and sponsored by Grand Strand Health, the roast is a charitable fundraiser for Substitutes for Santa, which provides 150 Horry County students with holiday gifts and festive entertainment in December.

Participants will enjoy freshly steamed oysters, chicken bog, refreshments, and live entertainment from The Paul Grimshaw Band.
