One of the most renowned attractions in Garden City Beach is the Pier at Garden City. Other attractions include Marlin Quay Marina, Gulf Stream Cafe, Original Sam's Corner, and Sara J's Seafood Restaurant.
Just south of Garden City Beach is Murrells Inlet, a seaside community that is considered to be the "Seafood Capital of South Carolina", but is also home to some of the nation's best golf courses. Once primarily a fishing village, the town is best known for the Murrells Inlet MarshWalk, a half-mile long boardwalk overlooking a pristine salt marsh, and the many award-winning seafood and barbecue restaurants along Highway 17 Business in the central business district.
Brookgreen Gardens, a sculpture garden and wildlife preserve built on four former rice plantations, is located slightly south of Murrells Inlet. It features several themed gardens with American figurative sculptures placed in them, trails through several nature reserve ecosystems and the Lowcountry Zoo.

Looking for some entertainment, take in a show at Alabama Theater, Medieval Times, The Carolina Opry, Pirates Voyage, and Legends in Concert. And don't forget about Ripley's Aquarium, Alligator Adventure, Hard Rock Cafe, Jimmy Buffett's Margaritaville, and The Pavilion Nostalgia Park.
Other points of interest close by include the waterfront community of Georgetown, the third oldest city in South Carolina and second largest seaport in South Carolina, and historic Conway with its downtown Riverwalk area nestled on the banks of the Waccamaw River. Both towns include fine dining, shopping, and historic sites.
Surfside Beach, Garden City Beach and Murrells Inlet are all close to Waccamaw Hospital and several urgent care facilities.

Marsh Oak is a very peaceful and private home. This house meets all our needs.
Sunsets, are out of this world. Very good neighbors on both sides.
We celebrated my husbands birthday while there.
Plenty to do ,but also restful.
We enjoyed it very much.

We really enjoyed our stay. The location is so perfect. This was our second time renting Marsh Oak, We hope to be able to rent the property again. The only drawback is the the queen room has a very unpleasant odor that was also present the first time we stayed. Also he mattress pad (cover) was very worn out and dirty, it needs to be replaced.

Overall our Rental experience at Marsh Oak was wonderful. The home had plenty of room for our extended family and guest for the week. Two of our favorite places to hang out together were the family room and outside covered area near the dock. We ate most of our meals out in this area and lots of time in the evenings. home was well appointed with everything we needed.
The location for getting the most use of the inlet and still close to the beach made sense for our family. Owner had kayaks and a paddle board for guest use as well as beach chairs and variety of beach games. The floorplan was great for our kids with separate quarters for part of the family downstairs. Our only complaints were dock has no water access at low tide so we could not tie up our boat for the week and pipe broke in the hall bath the 1st day we were there so we could not use the tub for a day, but realty company responded quickly to call for repair.
