Horizon East 503 is a two-bedroom, two-bath oceanfront condo located 0.6 miles north of Garden City Pier. This ocean facing unit has a fully-equipped kitchen complete with microwave and dishwasher, and living room with private balcony overlooking the beach, washer, dryer, and central heat and air conditioning. Three color TVs (cable), DVD player, stereo, and Wi-Fi are also provided. Sleeping accommodations include one king and two double-sized beds. Common area includes a swimming pool, gazebo, grills and two elevators. No trailers. No Golf Cart Allowed. Weekly rentals only. No smoking. No pets. Limit two pool gate access passes and one parking pass per unit at check-in. Check-out maid service included. Linens not included. Complete linen and bath package is available for $100, sheets and pillowcases only available for $48. Maximum occupancy: 8

Conveniently located close to some of the best area attractions, Garden City Beach is directly south of Surfside Beach and ends on a peninsula at the mouth of Murrells Inlet. One of the most renowned attractions in Garden City Beach is the Pier at Garden City. Other attractions include Marlin Quay Marina, Gulf Stream Cafe, Original Sam's Corner, and Sara J's Seafood Restaurant.

Just south of Garden City Beach is Murrells Inlet, a seaside community that is considered to be the "Seafood Capital of South Carolina", but is also home to some of the nation's best golf courses. Once primarily a fishing village, the town is best known for the Murrells Inlet MarshWalk, a half-mile long boardwalk overlooking a pristine salt marsh, and the many award-winning seafood and barbecue restaurants along Highway 17 Business in the central business district.

Brookgreen Gardens, a sculpture garden and wildlife preserve built on four former rice plantations, is located slightly south of Murrells Inlet. It features several themed gardens with American figurative sculptures placed in them, trails through several nature reserve ecosystems and the Lowcountry Zoo.

If you're looking for places to shop, Inlet Square Mall, The Market Common, Coastal Grand, Myrtle Beach Mall, Broadway at the Beach, Barefoot Landing, two Tanger shopping outlets, countless strip-malls, and many more shopping facilities are all within an easy drive from Garden City Beach. Looking for some entertainment, take in a show at Alabama Theater, Medieval Times, The Carolina Opry, Pirates Voyage, and Legends in Concert. And don't forget about Ripley's Aquarium, Alligator Adventure, Hard Rock Cafe, Jimmy Buffett's Margaritaville, and The Pavilion Nostalgia Park.

Other points of interest close by include the waterfront community of Georgetown, the third oldest city in South Carolina and second largest seaport in South Carolina, and historic Conway with its downtown Riverwalk area nestled on the banks of the Waccamaw River. Both towns include fine dining, shopping, and historic sites.

Surfside Beach, Garden City Beach and Murrells Inlet are all close to Waccamaw Hospital and several urgent care facilities.

Whatever your desire, whatever your need, the south strand offers a little something on everyone's to-do list. We have a variety of restaurants, retail stores, miniature golf, entertainment venues, charter fishing, water sports... and of course, nothing but relaxation.

We were supposed to stay at Horizon East for February and March of 2018. We are very disappointed with Garden City Rentals as well as the owner of Horizon East #503 for not letting us know that work was going to be done on the oceanfront part of the building. We spoke with a couple owners of units in the building and they were aware, thru the HOA, that work was going to begin in January, but was postponed until February because of the weather. Work began on the north side of the building the beginning of February, and was still underway when we left. On March 13, 2018, we were asked by the building manager to bring the balcony furniture into the living space and that we would not be able to use the balcony while work was being done on our portion of the building. This made our living space very crowded. During the rest of the week, we kept our blinds pulled as workmen kept jumping on and off of our balcony, grinding, hammering and making all kinds of noise.

This vacation was planned last summer and we brought my 91 year old mother-in-law. She needs a walker/wheelchair to get around and could not physically go down onto the beach. One of her pleasures was to be able to sit on the balcony and enjoy the sunshine and the view of the ocean. After March 13, this was no longer possible. After seeing the slow progress of the work on the north side of the building, we knew sitting on the balcony was not going to be possible for the rest of March. It would not even been pleasant to go down and sit on the deck because of the scaffolding and all the work and noise.
It was also brought to our attention that Garden City Rentals is the second largest rental agency in the area. What we would like to know is why no one let us know this work was being done before we arrived, and why we were not offered another rental in a building where work was not being done.

Great location..condo was fully furnished with everything we needed. Very nice & clean. Would definitely stay here again. Only one complaint, master bedroom needs darker curtains or shades that keep the (beautiful) bright morning sun out. We tend to sleep a bit late in the mornings & it was very bright. Sorry we had to leave early, my husband needed to get back to his heart& kidney Doctors.
